October saw a few last days at the
beach before the weather drew in; Raffy was getting used to wearing
welly boots while Monty grew bigger every day. November passed quite
uneventfully, but in December we made plans to spend Xmas at my Mum
& Dad's home in North Devon. The drive down can take up to six
hours and we were dreading it but actually it took less than four
and the boys slept all the way - in both directions. We all had a
lovely christmas, and for the first in many years, neither Vanessa
nor I had to work. |

Playing on the sands at Whitstable in October, Raffy in red boots.
Note the cow poking out of his pocket - he never goes far without
some sort of animal. Perhaps a veterinary career in the future? |

A typical Rafferty smile!

Enjoying his extremely bright Wellington boots at the beach. Shortly
after this he got them stuck in the sand and fell over... |

Auntie Tara came to visit the boys at Halloween. Being rather an arty
type, we could count on Tara to make a fantastic pumpkin for the occasion,
which Raffy adored. It did mean that whenever Tara visited for the
next three months he would always ask where the pumpkin was... |

At 4 months old, we started weaning Monty - this is his first ever
bite of food. |

Cuddles from Auntie Gail... |

Monty gets lots of cuddles from his Auntie Tara... |

Monty starts to enjoy lying on his front and pushing himself up -
he's about five months old here.

Vanessa enjoys a cuddle on the sofa with her two boys... |

Raffy in early December, pulling his 'funny face' that always seems
to appear whenever someone points a camera in his direction! |

We visited Grandad on Christmas Eve, on the way to Devon. Eddie dressed
up as Santa to give the boys a surprise. Monty took it all in his
stride, but Raffy got a little excited. |
|

Monty and Rafferty just before Christmas. The rubber ring was meant
for Monty to help him sit by himself, but Raffy decided that it looked
like too much fun to pass up. |

Monty received roughly one million cuddly toys this christmas - here
he is with a small selection... |

At my parents' house in Devon for Xmas - Raffy plays his little piano
while Monty looks on. Monty is nearly 6 months old here. |

Monty at 6 months, when he had to go to hospital with a nasty ear
infection. The brave little chap smiled and chuckled his way through
the whole thing - even when he had to have a venflon and IV's... |
