Rafferty continues to grow, and is
now very strong and active. He is starting to talk, and seems to learn
a new word every day: 'eye', 'ear', and 'shoe' among the most recent!
During the winter months it has been difficult to find places to take
him (weather permitting) but he has visited the local wild animal
parks on a couple of occasions. February saw him move from a cot to
a bed - when he learnt to climb over the sides of the cot and drop
to the floor! The only problem is that now he is able to wander around
when he wakes up in the night, but it keeps life interesting... |

On a visit to the wildlife centre in Wingham, near Canterbury, at
the end of January, Rafferty decided to climb into the front seat
of our car and was very excited about pretending to drive. It was
very funny as he had obviously worked out what to do with the wheel
and the gear stick from watching me drive.

The best thing about the wildlife park was that many of the animals
were free to wander around with the visitors. Raffy made friends with
a number of chickens, peacocks, guinea pigs, and this rather bemused
wallaby.

Outside in February, learning what to do with a badminton racket... |

Making friends with the neighbours' cat. Note the small car surgically
attached to Raffy's hand! |

Late February - Rafferty's first night sleeping in a proper bed. Once
he learnt how to scale the sides of his cot and dangle over the edge,
we had no choice but to make the change in case he fell. |

Anyone for a game of badminton? |
