January to March 2005   Download times...
January was a relatively peaceful month after all the Christmas excesses. The boys got back into their routine for nursery and we had some nice family weekends together. Monty is developing a stubborn streak, and we have had to choose Rafferty's school (where did the time go?) in early Feb.   Please note that in order to present large, high-quality pictures, this page may take almost a minute to download completely.

Raffy enjoying some jelly and ice-cream with Jake at an impromtpu New Year party on Monday 3rd January. I cooked a bit of a Morrocan feast from the Moro cookbook and we the whole gang around with all the children.

Raffy on the steps of the Tankerton Yacht Club on a morning walk by the seafront.

Looking like a cheeky chap...

Raffy runs down the hill amongst the boats on our morning walk.

Monty on the beach playing with a pebble. He was protesting about being in the pushchair at this point...

Raffy and Monty play with their new toy trains over lunch in the cafe at New Romney station on the Romney-Hythe Light Railway.

At the end of the walk we stopped at a little beachfront cafe in Tankerton for a cup of hot chocolate and a portion of chips for lunch. The boys had a little picnic on the hill overlooking the sea.

On a day out one Saturday in early February we took the boys to Hythe for a trip on the Romney-Hythe Light Railway - a wonderful little narrow-gauge railway that still runs real steam engines.

Monty looking rather pensive on the train - he wasn't too sure about the whole thing and clung to me all the way. But after a while he was happily pointing out the sheep and horses in the fields as we puffed by - so he can't have minded the train too much!

Monty in the model railway museum at New Romney station, watching the Hornby trains whizz past. This was a little more on his scale...

The two boys enjoy a drink in the cafe at New Romney station and play with the bright red toy trains I bought them as a souvenir.

A slightly unusual picture of Monty taken on 20th February as a grab shot while sorting out my camera gear.

The Holts visited one Saturday afternoon in March and the children had a lovely time playing together. From the left: Monty, Melissa, Juliet, Raffy and Charlotte.
