A new year, and the boys are getting
bigger and livelier every day. Rafferty's speech is developing very
quickly now, and we notice his vocabulary expanding daily. He's a
cheeky monkey though and is determined to assert his independence
- which leads to the odd disagreement! Monty is becoming a strong
and solid little chap - not so much of a baby any more. February and
March saw him sitting up, starting to crawl and cutting his first
four teeth. He is also beginning to babble away to himself, and really
enjoys playing peekaboo with Raffy. The two boys seem to be genuinely
fond of each other, which we think is a great start! |

Raffy and Monty in January, both wearing their rugby shirts. Raffy
not sure whether to cuddle Monty or wrestle him to the ground...

Monty in fluffy coat and hat - about to brave the long cold pushchair
ride to nursery at 7am! |

The two chaps in the double pushchair; this monstrosity does the job
but isn't exactly the most nimble of vehicles. Trouble is, you remember
how you used to hate people pushing 'double buggies' in shops before
you had children yourself! |

In early February, Vanessa and Monty nipped over to Cascais for five
days to visit Jo and family. It was so nice and warm over there that
they even managed to sit on the beach.

Monty began to sit up by himself and started saying "Da da da"
while they were there. |

On the beach in Cascais - Monty's first time playing in the sand. |

A visit to the Holt household on Nathan's birthday at the end of Feb:
all the children had a wonderful time playing together, and eating
a lot of cake! |

Raffy decided to put on one of Charlotte's pink fluffy tiaras. I think
this picture might feature at his wedding! |
|

At the end of the evening, Raffy surprised us all by crawling into
bed with Melissa and falling fast asleep. |

On the 29th February we visited Tenterden Town station for a day out
with Thomas the Tank Engine. Rafferty had a wonderful time as he is
a big fan... |

The tickets included a ride in a steam train along the old country
railway line. Funny thing is - these old carriages were much better
than most of the rolling stock Connex SouthEast can muster in 2004... |

Raffy speaking to me on Vanessa's mobile. Not quite sure why the face... |

After a long Sunday morning walk along the seafront from Whitstable
to Tankerton, Raffy enjoys a hot chocolate in a cafe. |
