November & December 2002 : 16 to 18 months   Download times...

Raffy seems to grow up faster as the months go by. He has moved to the 'Toddlers' section of his nursery, again a couple of months early. He is now very mobile and quite strong-willed - some quite impressive amateur dramatics can be seen if he doesn't get his own way. He's great fun though - he loves looking at books and can now recognise a lot of objects and animals, and make the appropriate sounds. We spent Christmas at Eddie's, and Raffy got two wonderful rocking 'horses' from Eddie and Tara - actually a motorbike and a plane, to be precise. My parents bought him a lovely tricycle which has a handle so we can push him along until he's big enough to use the pedals.

Please note that in order to present large, high-quality pictures, this page may take almost a minute to download completely. The first few pictures will be visible quickly, but please have patience with the rest!

Eddie had a go at giving Raffy his dinner - which developed into a yoghurt fight and much hilarity...

Learning to colour in.
On a visit to Portugal in November (just Vanessa and Raffy this time) he had a go at colouring with Oliver's pencils. Spent more time chewing the pencils than colouring, it has to be said, but it's a start.

In our back garden with Granddad
On a fine November afternoon, Eddie and Raffy relax on the patio with a glass of wine.

Vanessa's new hat

A very large present on Xmas Day
Christmas Day at Eddie's house. Rafferty finds this rather large red present, which has to be for him...

...and turns out to be a lovely rocking motorbike, made from solid beechwood.

Out on his new tricycle
Outside on Boxing Day, we took Raffy for a walk on the new tricycle my parents bought for him.
