A winter break in Maspalomas...   Download times...
We took a last-minute winter break to the Canary Islands in December 1998.  This was the first holiday Vanessa and I had taken together - but certainly wasn't going to be the last. We managed to get a little sun, see some of the night life (including a dodgy pub quiz with questions on astrophysics) and hired a jeep to explore the island.   Please note that in order to present large, high-quality pictures, this page may take almost a minute to download completely. The view over Maspalomas as we walked up the hill into the centre of town. We must have made this walk at least twice a day for most of the holiday, as all the best restaurants were at the top!
